Pretty easy week except for that UNH/W&M game. I fully expect Delaware and JMU to begin to fall towards back of the pack. Both are mediocre teams who have beaten nobody.

Before some of you get overly confident about UNH beating W&M, recall that UNH has beaten W&M a grand total of once since the 1990's, Tribe defense is pretty good, and we're undefeated at home.
I also think UD is going to give Towson a hell of a game and Rhody could upset ODU (who needed a very late FG to beat a horrible Norfolk St team).

All home teams this week. JMU is 5-0 @ Home & 0-3 on the Road... W&M can put this latest UNH resurgence to bed. If Delaware can take this game at Towson, their ticket is punched.

Maine - The class of the league.
New Hampshire - Offense too dynamic for the Tribe to keep up with?
ODU
JMU - I think their defense will be enough to contain Robertson, and that's all they really need to focus on.
Delaware - Statistically the Tigers are better, but I like UD based upon intangibles here. More on the line for the Hens & any home field adv will be negated. Did I hear correctly that Spencer Wilkins is out for the game?

Stony Brook 10 @ Maine 35. xlolx Black Bears' Drive to a playoff seed continues.
New Hampshire 27 @ William & Mary 24 (OT). xconfusedx Living on the edge (again), 'Cats eschew OT 4th down FG, snatching a 2nd improbable W in last 3 weeks.
Rhode Island 27 @ Old Dominion 35. xsmhx URI competes, but is ultimately overmatched.
Villanova 34 @ James Madison 14. xpeacex 'Nova begins its own climb back from the abyss.
Albany 21 @ Richmond 20. xthumbsupx Danes strive for respectability down the homestretch of Coach Ford's farewell tour, getting a big win.
Delaware 24 @ Towson 45. xrotatehx T.West left, right, around, and over the Hens en route to another 5 TD performance

If Albany beats UR, will the Spiders fire their HC?
I'm in nooooooo way discounting UNH. Not a bit. I posted the head-to-head record over the past 15 years because JMU & UD have beaten up on W&M when the Tribe appeared to be the better team. It's weird how some teams get up for others.

Help me understand this statement. The funny thing is with 24 playoff teams a team like UD can "beat nobody" and still be an 8-4 playoff team with a 1st round home game. And with 4 games left where are they falling towards the back of the pack? Their last 4 games are @ Towson, W&M, Richmond, and a virtual home game at PPL Park vs Nova. So even assuming they lose Saturday their last 3 games aren't exactly riddled with landmines. Look, I agree, UD is a mediocre team at this moment. So even if they lose to Towson they come into their last 3 games needing 2 wins for the playoffs...not a bad spot to be in. In fact, they are probably in the 3rd best spot in the CAA in terms of playoff qualification. Look below at the remaining schedules of the bubble CAA playoff teams and find a team with a better setup...especially getting to 8 D1 wins. And yes I know 7 wins is a threshold but 8 is even better.
UNH (4-3) @W&M, JMU, @Albany, Maine...they need to win a minimum of 3 games
Nova (4-4) @JMU, @URI, BYE, neutral site vs Delaware...needing to win all 3 games to have a shot at the playoffs
W&M (5-3) UNH, @Delaware, Towson, @Richmond
JMU (5-3) Villanova, @UNH, Stony Brook, @Towson
Delaware (6-2) @Towson, W&M, Richmond, neutral site vs Villanova
So I'm not arguing UD isn't an above average football team, but the current FCS playoff landscape will allow a mediocre 8-4 UD team with 8 D1 wins and 3 FCS losses in the field 10 times out of 10.

I don't think you'll find any UNH fans underestimating W&M.
+1. W&M owns us. They beat us one year with either a third or fourth string QB. I don't expect to score as many points as being predicted. I think maybe 20-17, 17-13, etc. one way or the other. UNH is playing much better defensively after getting embarrassed by Towson (19 to Rhody, 28 to 'Nova, 13 to SBU), but W&M is still the favorite and a very good team.

I would project:
UNH: L-W-W-L (6-5)
Villanova: W-W-W (7-4)
W&M: W-L-L-W (7-5)
JMU: L-L-W-L (6-6)
Delaware: W-W-W-L (9-3)
Delaware and Nova along with Maine and Towson end up in the playoffs.

It appears to me that any CAA team that expects to make the playoffs this year can not lose a 5th game. 8-4 or 7-4 are minimums.

Delaware will not beat Towson. They might split with W&M and Nova. I wouldn't be surprised to see them lose both and end up 7-5.

Stony Brook @ #5 Maine - The Seawolves are done after losing at home last week to UNH, and Maine is really, really good.
#19 New Hampshire @ #22 William & Mary - Great game here, and very tough to call. I think UNH will score just enough on the Tribe's excellent D to pull out a close one.
Rhode Island @ Old Dominion - ODU too much for a better-than-expected URI team.
#18 Villanova @ James Madison - JMU has been very disappointing. Is Mickey Matthews on the hot seat?
Albany @ Richmond - Richmond is still playing hard, and I was impressed with their QB.
#24 Delaware @ #6 Towson - Statement game time for the Tigers.

Maine 34 StB 14 - Black Bears keep growling
W&M 24 UNH 21 - Tight one in Burg, don't think this is UNH's year
ODU 34 URI 13 - Two teams going nowhere this year
Nova 21 JMU 14 - Two teams in turmoil, both banged up, but VU can still score
UR 27 Albany 17 - Any team more disappointing than the Spiders?
TU 40 UD 30 - Hens have matched up with Tigers well but lack the near perfect game they need

UNH 30 W&M 27 - I think UNH keeps the positive mojo rolling...
ODU 50 URI 30 - The Monarchs have too much offense....
JMU 27 Villanova 24 - The Wildcats are battered bunch....
Richmond 24 Albany 17 - Has their been a bigger disappointment this year than the Spiders?
Towson 42 Delaware 33 - I really wanted to pick the Hens but I can't go against the TU offense...

who's injured for Nova? i'm not being a smart ass, i seriously know nothing of any injury situations.
i'll take Nova as the only road team to win. not trying to be pessimistic, but i've seen Robertson too many times this year. he just seems to be faster than everyone on the field.
that said, he has this thing where he hands off and then runs up the field to try to block someone. he seems to do it every running play, not just occasionally or when there is a reverse. if he does that against JMU, i hope we take some good-and-legal shots at him. once you hand off, you're no longer considered a "passer" and are therefore fair game, especially if he's instigating contact.

Nova has two of their top 3 wideouts out for the season and have played most of the year without 2 LB's and a safety. Lost the defensive guys vs BC and or Fordham.

thanks. makes me feel a little better, we struggle so much in the secondary. we need every break we can get at those spots.
