It appears you are the one of the people out to get me, which is alright, but I have every right to share my opinions on this forum good or bad, its called freedom of speech and a good ole document states I have the right to use it.

Never did I say UNI was out of it or bad by any stretch of the imagination; I have said they will come to play for Gateway ball and can be a force this year again, just look at last year starting slow and finishing strong.

Just got back. UNI played a great game. UNI had two costly injuries in the 3rd or 4th quarter. I think it was the 3rd. Anyway, Dre Dokes (the guy who took an INT to the house and had been on Blythe all night) got hurt. They pulled him off the field and the next play was to Blythe on a fade route over our RS freshman CB. Brannon Carter, our starting OLB, got hurt the play right before that. UNI created turnovers and made smart plays. Wingert had made a 56 yard field goal already this year (with plenty extra on it). The 51 yarder tonight was long enough (even though he didn't get all of it...I initially thought it was short), but it was wide right...barely. Maybe a yard or two.

This one hurts, but it's good to see the Panthers we all expected to play early on hitting on all cylinders again. The Panthers did 1-AA well. Next week will be interesting with Terry Allen coming to town. UNI has to play almost perfect the rest of the way to win the GFC. I was impressed with the UNI defense tonight. Created turnovers and bent, but didn't break too much. Reminded me alot of the playoff run next week. Anyway, that's my first hand account for you all.

Well, this game throws a wrench in my feeling about this year's UNI squad. Lose to a D-II at home (albeit a pretty good one), and then lose to a Big XII that will actually win some games in conference a few weeks later...:confused: I think I'll keep us right around where I had us last week, but if UNI plays like they did last night the rest of the way, watch out come the playoffs...:eyebrow:

Wingert has hit a FG of 53. It wasn't short, it was barely wide right. Our play by play guy thought it was short. I was sitting even with the goalposts and it was just long enough. We thought it was good.

What a hearbreaker. I made a comment to my buddy late in the fourth quarter that "many people thought we'd go 3-1 to start the season...but no one thought we'd lose to North Dakota and beat ISU." Uggghhhh.

Giving up the TD in the fourth quarter was more the reason for the loss than the missed kick. The desperation kick should have never been necessary. That said, it would have been sweet if you had made it. Nice effort.

What a fun game to watch! It was a great night for a football game and their was a record crowd on hand of just over 55,000. I thought that UNI could hold on for the win when we were still up 21-7 deep into the 3rd quarter. Too bad that the last kick was wide right. It looked like it was long enough from where I was sitting. Oh well. I was very proud of UNI and I think that we will be ok for the rest of the year. We hung tough and probably should have beat a Big 12 team. A vast improvement when compared our loss to North Dakota.
