Sophomore Cole Champion (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.) had one of the biggest days on defense a Yale football player has enjoyed in recent years. His performance, which earned national FCS defensive player of the week honors by The Sports Network (sportsnetwork.com), helped the Bulldogs make a national statement in a 24-10 win at No. 18 Cal Poly last Saturday.
