No scoring midway through the first. Cornell went 3-and-out, all runs, while Colgate drove from inside their own 10 to near the Cornell 30 and failing on 4th down

Looks like it might be pretty gray, but the camera's focused on the field so I can't really see. Forecast said rain possible later in the game, but it is not raining right now

Cornell driving, Matthews floats one near the sideline, route jumped and picked off by Armiento! 85 yards later he's in for the TD!

Couldn't agree more. #18 makes plays.

Cornell goes back down the field, Matthews to the back of the end zone and allegedly finds his receiver for the score. I say allegedly because the camera is apparently incapable of turning for a downfield pass play, but more importantly, the game is tied

7-7. Apparently Cornell threw a touchdown. Panning the camera seems to not be a strength of the operator. Cornell QB throws a nice ball.

No FG attempts. Only place it probably made sense was first drive in second half against Air Force.

Drive stalls inside the 20, FG attempt from Burgess is up and good! First FG of the year for Colgate

Ha!! just a hunch that Gate would need to kick a couple today instead of going for it on 4th down in redzone....could be the diffence?

Nice drive for Cornell. Colgate's D on field for most of the game after pick 6 and long drives by Cornell.

Cornell's biggest weakness is that the camera operator can't go left.

Great drive for Colgate! McCarney went back across the field to find Quazza from about 15 yards out for the score!

Cornell comes right back for another score, Matthews to Gallatly. Fumbled snap on the extra point, tackled in the backfield. Red killed us with screens and dump-offs, gotta find an answer for their offense

Three TDs in the last few minutes of the half, pretty entertaining game so far. Strange to see the defense on the field so much and not feel completely hopeless. McCarney and DiCicco playing well, but so are Matthews and Gellatly for the Red. We get the ball for the 2nd half, so hopefully that will help, and I wonder if the missed PAT will haunt Cornell.

Colgate's D rarely gets beat deep. It's the under stuff that gets turned into big plays. Rushing three and playing a soft dime at the end of the half seems to be the worst of both worlds.

Nice to see Colgate using #84 on offense. No punts for Colgate. Colgate gives up 20 on D but also scores 7. McCarney looks sharp. Cornell QB looks really good. Colgate gets ball to start 2nd half. Cornell has to be dominating time of possession, which could really help in the 4th.

McCarney hurt on a late tackle out of bounds, and it's Colgate who gets the flag for holding. What a joke

Sorry, not Finelli but Jake Melville at QB

DiCicco picks up a 1st down on a short run, but apparently fumbled. Sure looked down to me, but no replay coming. Would be the 3rd questionable call in Cornell's favor this quarter (no-call on late McCarney hit, similar fumble ruled down on Cornell's last drive)

Colgate was a different team in the second half. They really played with emotion. Hope they bring that for the rest of the year. Really good coaching moves about who they brought in and who they moved around on defense. Also, nice to see Colgate throwing the ball to set up the run.

3 stars of the game (first hockey game is tonight ;)):
Jimmy DiCicco - Looked dangerous with the ball in his hands. Not quite as strong as the previous starters, but 146 rushing yards, 31 receiving, 2 TDs including the backbreaker in the 4th
Mike Armiento - 2 picks, some good tackles, led the way on a defense that shutout the Big Red in the 2nd half
Jake Melville - Comes off the bench in the 3rd, no previous experience, proceeds to rush 6 times for 54 yards, 3-4 passing for 60 yards, led 4 scoring drives, great look from the freshman. I certainly hope McCarney is alright and can come back for the rest of the season, but it's hard not to feel good about Melville's potential
All of that being said, Cornell is one of the weakest teams we'll see all year, so getting the win was big. If I want to get really excited about this team, we'll see if they can put together a similar effort against Stony Brook next weekend

Who cares - can they make a G-D placekick? That is all that matters. Colgate's kickers have set college football back about sixty years!
