Northern Iowa quarterback Sawyer Kollmorgen is throwing from experience this season, Panthers coach Mark Farley said during Tuesday’s Missouri Valley Football Conference coaches teleconference.
Kollmorgen, last year’s MVFC Newcomer and Freshman of the Year, hasn’t been picked off in 96 attempts this year. With 875 yards and eight touchdowns in his first four games of the season, the 6-foot-2, 215-pound sophomore is one of the most efficient quarterbacks in the country. His 173.85 rating this season is fourth nationally. His career efficiency rating of 149.39 is just behind San Diego’s Mason Mills in the Football Championship Subdivision.
