WHAT A FREAKING GAME!!!! Man, I'm exhausted after that. Tough loss for S.Carolina, was hoping Spurrer and company would pull it off. Never have liked Auburn.
GO CATAMOUNTS!!!

That USC TE must be feeling pretty awful. Sure touchdown that would have tied the game hit him right in the grubbies. Fun game to watch.

Good game. I was pulling HARD for the Gamecocks in this one. The TE definitely dropped a sure TD. But I'm not too sure that the fade route / jump ball in the corner of the end zone was the right call on 4th down. You could have let the QB run a draw and at least pick up the 1st, then spike the ball. Hell, the way he was running, he may have scored on a scramble!

Agreed GC. Got to give credit to the Auburn DC though. He brought the pressure at the right times to rattle Newton. The blitz that sacked Newton, and then the pressure AU brought on that last play made Newton get rid of the ball before he had time to think about running or checking down. Definitely armchair quarterbacking, but it would seem like with a defense that is as agressive as AU that USC would have run something to take advantage of AU's agressiveness (QB/RB draw, flare to the flat, etc). It's hard not to go to a guy like Rice though.

Yeah, we saw Will Muschamp's (Auburn DC) passion and intelligence for several years down here in Louisiana. He was the LSU DC on the 2003 BCS Championship team and it was my first year in grad school at LSU so I got to see all the home games in person. He knows exactly what he's doing and learned from a GREAT teacher in Nick Saban.

Great game, still can't believe that guy dropped the ball.
I liked Spurrier's offense.

I did not like the playcall on the last play. It was only a yard for a first down. Even without TO's left the clock stops, you spike the ball and have three more shots at it.
BTW, couldn't believe they didn't give more stats on that crazy third quarter. It can't happen very often that a team has 15:00 of possession. Matter of fact, I bet they'd be hard pressed to find another game when that's ever happened. Even if a team fumbles the KO, don't they get credit with a couple seconds of possession?

The Riverboat Gambler won it for Auburn. I'm guessing Irons went to AAuburn because of no playing time and Holtz.
I wish Spurrier's team would have won, but I will say they looked a lot better here than against Georgia.

I can't believe the game was that close. That was the best I have seen South Carolina play all season.

Auburn definitely did NOT look like a #2 caliber team last night. Bad play calls and dropped passes caused SC the game. I'm STILL trying to understand how you throw a fade on 4th and 1 from the 5.

Auburn is still my pick to win the SEC eventhough they are playing not to lose. Then, after they win the SEC, they will have to face the Ohio State Buckeyes and get their butts handed to them. Granted OSU needs to get past Iowa and Michigan but that is how I see it.

I dont see Auburn getting out of the season undefeated this year. Only takes one loss and they could end up in the Peach Bowl. They still have UGA, Florida, Alabama and Arkansas on schedule and its not gonna help that they have Tulane and Arkansas State on their schedule when it comes to BCS computers. So far margin of victory wont help much either.

Who's to say the Couch Burners or USC won't jump Auburn in the polls? If Florida were to win out, wow.
