On Monday Eastern Illinois quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo was named National Offensive Player of the Week (480 yards, 7 touchdowns) while Jacksonville State kicker Griffin Thomas was named National Specialist of the Week (5 field goals). In the polls Eastern Illinois moved up to No. 8 in the Sports Network poll while UT Martin entered the poll at No. 24.
