Tailgating at Stony Brook

Need a little help from the SB guys here. I've been to 2 SB games before, but only with a few friends, and we ended up parked pretty far from the stadium, so the "tailgating" was basically just us drinking.

On Saturday we'll have a decent group, so the question is, what are the tailgating policies? When does the lot open, which lots are available, etc. We'd like to get in early and get a prime spot, and I can't seem to find any info on the SB football website.

Hey DoubleH, Towson is going to be tailgating at Stony Brook! I have attached the Stony Brook parking map link. TU is going to be in the Green Commuter Student Lot. This lot is located in 3-B on the grid. The entrance is off of Gym Road. The stadium will be a short walk from this lot. I’m told the lot will be open at 2pm on Saturday and possibly even earlier.
I know there will be several alumni and many of the TU Football parents that will arrive in this lot early to try and save spaces. I will get ther at 1:00pm - Hope to see you there.

Tailgate next door in downtown Port Jefferson, there's good food and a nice view. Seriously, I have been known to tailgate a bit in the LIRR lot, which is not so popular, which is kind of why we go there. We toss around a football and enjoy some local Long Island fare (i.e. pizza). The Green Commuter Student Lot should be easy to get a spot if you get there early.
