Not at all surprised at the outcome of this game. Their defense got their butts handed to them in the trenches and Flanders once again ran all over them. They are going to have a great rest of the year. Adams is a best and still put up his numbers like I thought he would. If you can't stop the run you have no chance at beat Sam Houston and EWU obviously can't stop the run. Glad my Kats did took care of business. Now on to conference play after a week off. They are not one dimensional at all. We have a damn good run defense and that running back is the best I've seen against us in the last few years. We were able to put a heck of alot of pressure on Adams without blitzing near as much as last year. We got several sacks and a couple for huge loss. I was very impressed with their OLines run blocking way more than their pass blocking. Adams is alot like Manziel with his ability to scramble. Several times we should have had easily had him and he escaped. Flanders ended with 280 rushing. 506 total for The Kats. VA had a touch over 350 passing not sure team total. The RB for EWU is legit though! If Kaufman was still an Eagle for his sebior year instead of at home eating fruit loops jobless they might have won this game. Glad no injuries for either side!

I got absolutely SOAKED before the game thanks to the storm, but I don't regret it one bit! Kats did a great job against a great team. EWU fans shouldn't feel too bad about this loss, you still have an entire season to prove you belong with the elite FCS teams- and I think Adams and friends will live up to the challenge. We're talking about probably the best receiver on the team, here. I highly doubt he'd fake an injury and stay out of the rest of the game to stop the clock.

I was watching, and the injury was legit. The kid is a competitor, no way he doesn't come back into the game unless there was something seriously wrong. He played the last two games hurt.

Both defenses were very very gassed in the 4th I had to walk down and back up the ramp at held because the press box elevator was shutoff and I didn't break a sweat like usual but it was very heavy air and hard to get a feel breath!! I would've hated playing out there!

I don't know if he did or he didn't. I don't think that is the way Baldwin approaches the game. But who knows. I wasn't in his head. I will say thought, that I was watching the game on TV, and the trainers worked on both legs. You probably were at the game, and it may have been hard to see that from your vantage point. And that doesn't necessarily prove anything. He certainly didn't look like he was struggling when he got up and walked off the field. But I think that is a heck of an accusation to make. And once again, I'm not in the coaches head, but from everything I've seen, heard, etc, that is not the way they approach the game.

I had kinda though EW would win, it seemed as if they had the better overall team however once again I'm disappointed the Big Sky teams have not figured out how to play tough defense. Punter went down, after a finger grazed him, like he had a sledge hammer taken to his knees and was then lit on fire....he was literally carried off the field by teammates. 3 plays later (after uni forced another 3 and out on the same drive) he sprinted back into the field at full steam (our as gay as his pudgy add could go), punted, sprinted down the field towards the returner, then egged on the boos after the play.

He got his helmet taken off on a kick return later in the game.

That same type of thing happened at least 4 other times in the game.


After the game SFA players (and some coaches) ran straight across the field to the student section and spent a good 5 plus minutes taunting them as they left the stadium....

I've wished very bad things on every part of their program since then.

We virtually destroyed the consensus number 2 team in the country (couldve been worse) that beat a ranked OSU (which is 3-1 now) UNI beat a bad Iowa state team and pulled a victory out of the grasp of defeat very late in the game against a DII team, a bad drake team, and a bad Northern Colorado team!! The final score shows a 7 point win...what that doesn't show is that Iowa State was gifted 10 points (blown coverage for a 59 yard TD...yes it was blown coverage, the safety was no where to be found...and a fumble that gave ISU a FG that wasn't a fumble. The ground caused it but it wasn't overturned). Not only that UNI fumbled on the 1 yard line with 1 minute left in the fourth going in for another TD. Take everything that could have gone wrong away and it actually played out like a 42-10 type game.

We beat Drake (back to back PFL champs) 45-14 in a very sloppy game for us. We pulled the starters after the first drive of the second half with more than 12 minutes left in the third. Both of Drake's scores came against the second team. Drake had 167 yards of total offense...we had 388 and after the first drive of the second half (which was 2 or 3 plays for a TD) we probably ran only 5 different plays.

We beat UNC 26-7. We were without a starting LB for the game...we outgained them 402-280. We kicked 4 FG's inside of 31 yards. We ran a playbook that didn't go past the first page for the entire game. It honestly played out like a 42-7 type game. Much like the Drake game it was a game we wanted to get over as quickly as possible. We ran the play clock down to under 10 on every snap, pulled the starters at less than half way through the 4th quarter and completely took the air out of everything. Also had a pick 6 called back in the 4th due to an "early celebration" penalty...add 7 more on.

We beat top 10 McNeese State (who thrashed an FBS school themselves) 41-6. The frustrating this is we left at least 10 points on the field with a missed FG and a blown OL blocking on 4th and goal from the 1 in the first half. We outgained them 466-280 and held them to 6 points - they were averaging over 500 yards and 50 points per game this season. PUlled the starters in the 4th and took the air out of the ball. Honestly, and you can ask any MSU fan that saw the game, it could have easily been 56 or more to 6.


Our starters have only played all 4 quarters once this year...and 12.5ish of 16 possible...yet our stats blow the **** out of our opponents.

I personally have not spoken with any eagles fans in person, so I can't comment on them (and don't really care about anyone else's opinion of them). What I can say is some of the best fans I've ever met were SHSU fans the past two years in Frisco. Truly classy and nice people, nothing but respect for them and their program. To see the comments in this thread though I'd assume that all their fans were assholes. Fortunately I know that isn't the case. I'm hoping that is the case for the ewu fans as well. I'd like to think that the keyboard warriors are the exception to the rule for any fan base (including NDSU... we have plenty of obnoxious people "representing" our fan base as well).

They also left out the part where he spent a good 5 minutes on the field being attended to by trainers. As mentioned before, the kid has cramped every single game this season, it's nothing new. SHSU fans just don't like the fact that it happened on a 3rd down with the game still in the line. Zero percent chance your #1 WR fakes an injury just to stop the clock (we still had time-outs, BTW) and then never comes back into the game when the outcome is still in question. Besides, to think that Baldwin would engage in that kind of business is absolutely laughable.

It is what it is, though. You're not going to reason with people that already have their minds made up about what did or did not happen.

What Saturday showed many people is that Sam Houston is much better than people thought even after replacing 4 starters on the offensive line and 4 starters in the secondary. Even as Sam Houston gets consistently bashed about the OOC schedule, Fritz has his boys ready to play and take care of business. EWU was no fluke. That is a damn good football team!

There were opportunities last year. Just depends on what his long term plans are. There are some DEEEEP PERSONAL TIES to Sam Houston.

Fritz played football for long time Sam Houston coach Ron Randleman at Pittsburg State, who still lives in Huntsville and very involved in the program. He coached with AD Bobby Williams at SHSU back in the early 90's. Two of his kids are enrolled at Sam Houston.
Fritz spent 13 years at Central Missouri as head coach and turned down the Sam Houston job in 2005 after Coach Randleman retired. Kats went after him again after 5 years of the Todd Whitten disaster and he accepted the job. Now, here he is.

BUT, I am not going to say that he wouldnt go for the right opportunity. I am a firm believer that money talks and bs walks.

I was referring to Mcneese's last second win over the D2 team. I have alot of respect for UNI, Towson and still EWU. I think after NDSU those 3 can be put in any order. But IMO from what we know from last year and this year SHSU deserves to be ranked #2 at this point. Like I said we have no idea who is really the actual better team right now but we beat EWU worse than what the score even indicated. The same EWU team that beat a 4-1 OSU team that just beat Colorado 44-17. That's why my opinion is we deserve to be #2 but we are all 3 pretty dang close right now anyway you look at it.
