Figured I would beat the appy's on posting this:

Making just his second collegiate start, Edwards collected 296 yards of total offense and accounted for three touchdowns in the ASU win. The true freshman completed 16-of-22 passes for 195 yards without throwing an interception and added 101 yards on 13 rushes. He tossed touchdown passes of 36 and 10 yards and added an 18-yard touchdown run.

The Greenwood, S.C. native became the first Mountaineer in five games to rush for 100 yards and did so in just three quarters of work, as many of ASU’s starters were removed from the game in the fourth quarter of the rout. He also became the first true freshman quarterback at ASU to win two games since D.J. Campbell in 1989.

I havn't forgotten Trey. It's sure as hell a luxury to have a back-up like that. I stick up for him any chance I get. Without him, we are NOT the defending national champs.

thats not smack. Feel free to move it if one Furman fan can't see the humor. I'm going to bed now, but I was totally on a roll there. At least I thought they were good. :bawling:

Isn't Gray a freshman, too? Maybe he's a redshirt fr, but I thought he was young as well, and I think it's relatively safe to say ASU and Furman are the leading contenders.

The last time one did was when D.J. Campbell was the starting QB for the 1989 Appalachian State Mountaineers. Marshall started a freshman named Chad Pennington in 1995 and he led them to second in the SoCon (behind an 11-0 ASU team) and ultimately to the I-AA championship game.
