Any of you SEMO and SIU fans want to explain how this came about? Are the schools thinking that it is going to be highly attended by St Louis area alums? Any word on ticket sales? I assume that's why the game is being held there. Is there going to be any way to watch this, it's not listed on espn3.

This is akin to NDSU and UNI playing at Target Field??

That might actually get 30k one time.

Both schools have sizable alumni bases in St. Louis. I'm not sure how many will actually show up for the game.

I'd say there will be 12-15000 at least---SEMO and SIU have sold out their allotment and there is 30-40,000 or more alumni in the Metro area. Going to be a nice day too.

SEMo came up with the idea of changing their scheduled home game to Busch--SIU quickly agreed--they have 30,000 alumni in st. louis, it's only 90 miles away and it takes away SEMO's "home field advantage"--win, win, win. It's great advertising for both team's recruiting--they both recruit heavily in St. Louis. Although I asked Coach Lennon if he'd think about moving his home game with SEMO and he quickly said, "NO WAY!"

Taking the girlfriend, who is an Auburn alum, to her first FCS game. xthumbsupx Also get to add two teams I've never seen in person to my list. Hoping for a good game - I'll be wearing my App shirt.

Not bad is this something both fan bases might be interested in continuing?

I'd want our home years at our new stadium.

Perfect day in St. Louis for a football game. The weather was fabulous, and there was a good turnout from both fan bases. Enjoyed seeing both bands. I'd say the attendance was probably accurate. I thought SEMO held their own well into the third quarter before the Salukis finally took charge and put the game out of reach.

Thanks for the pics mountaineer! My wife is a SEMO alumnus and a Cardinal fan (translation Busch Stadium Fan). We would have liked to have gone to the game. Being an alum of a MVFC school I was pulling for the Dawgs to win.

What did your girlfriend think of the game?

No probs. xrotatehx Busch Stadium is a beautiful venue - not too mention the killer views of downtown. I had no rooting interest really, but I was mostly in the SEMO section. I just wanted to see some football. :D The girlfriend had an excellent time, too.

I think I would have tried to avoid getting tackled around second base.

I think I would have tried to avoid getting tackled around second base.

I'm not sure who it was, or exactly where it happened (I was in line getting a drink), but one of the SEMO players had his leg snap at the ankle. It was hanging off to the side, and everyone under the stadium watching it on the TV let out some shocked exclamations before the feed cut away. I hope the dude is alright as it looked gruesome.
