Great but expected win in San Fran. Monday nite game vs. Green Bay. 98 yard fumble return for TD by Mike Patterson (wow, that boy can run!), an Eagles record. Who did they say had the Eagles record for that before Patterson? I missed the comment.

96 yards by corner back named Lavender. I remember the name--his nickname was 'Bird'. Yes the offense did very well. Of course the D was pretty good, but, again, seemed to have a lull in the third quarter. With the Giants going down today, the Iggles have to make the most of their schedule right now and build up a lead, for December will be nasty.

Any Eagles fans who watched the game against the 49ers. How did former Yale star and 49er TE Eric Johnson look. After his injury last year it's been kind of a slow comeback, but I noticed he caught 7 passes today. Any Impressions?

Johnson looked good. He caught the Niners' last TD pass and broke a few tackles on other catches.

I remember the Joe Lavender game! Eagles were playing the Cowboys on Monday nite Sept 23, 1974 and I was in 7th grade! The Cowboys were a premier team and the Birds were not. A great victory for second year head coach Mike McCormick.

Nice win for the Birds. I caught the last 3-4 minutes when I got home from the NASCAR race.

They should get another W Monday nite as they are playing Green Bay at home. Then the schedule gets a little tougher. Still got them at 10-6.
