The celebratory mood of Gardner-Webb’s 12-10 football triumph Saturday night versus 11th-ranked Richmond has to move to the backburner quickly in the tough world of Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) action.
Given that another ranked foe – No. 10 Wofford – awaits the Runnin’ Bulldogs Saturday at 7 p.m. in Spartanburg, S.C., a sense of urgency is understandable in the GWU camp. First-year head football coach Carroll McCray says it’s all part of a learning process.
