http://www.nashvillesounds.com/images/news/weeks.jpg Nashville Sounds second baseman Rickie Weeks, the Brewers’ top prospect, was recalled by Milwaukee following the team’s game in Philadelphia this evening and will be in uniform for the major league club on Saturday against the Phillies at Citizens Bank Park.
The red-hot second baseman – who appeared briefly for Milwaukee in September 2003 at the end of his first professional season – will take the roster spot of outfielder Dave Krynzel, who was optioned back to Nashville after going hitless in seven at-bats, including a trio of strikeouts, over five games for the Brewers since being recalled on June 2.

Top prospect Rickie Weeks had an exciting 2005 debut, going 2-for-4 with an RBI and a walk. Wes Helms hit a two-run homer in the second inning and Milwaukee had the lead in the seventh, until Pat Burrell's three-run homer in the bottom half of the inning.

http://milwaukee.brewers.mlb.com/images/2004/06/21/36hJQQC8.jpgPHILADELPHIA -- Rickie Weeks received a call about 2 p.m. on Friday afternoon from Nashville Sounds manager Frank Kremblas, who told the prized prospect to get ready.
Weeks, somewhat caught by surprise, asked: "Ready for what?"
That's when Kremblas informed the second baseman that he would be joining the Brewers in Philadelphia, a June callup that seems for good now.
Brewers manager Ned Yost inserted Weeks into the starting lineup on Saturday before the Brewers' game against the Phillies. Weeks was penciled in at No. 2 in the batting order. In Weeks' first at-bat, he drove a line drive that Phils first baseman Jim Thome had to make a diving stop on for the second out of the first inning.

Notes: Weeks improving defensively

MIAMI -- Rickie Weeks isn't too concerned about trying to prove people wrong. He's too busy trying to make plays.
"I've always had confidence that I can play defense," said Weeks, whose confidence has been tested at times this season. "It's not so much proving people wrong, but you just go out there and feel good about yourself. I don't think I'm doing too bad at all, so I'm just going to keep working."
Weeks, the second overall pick in the 2003 First-Year Player Draft, hits for average and for power, draws more than his share of walks and has great speed. But the one knock that has followed him throughout his career is that he is a defensive liability at second base.
He's had a few high-profile miscues since a June 11 callup to Milwaukee, but Brewers manager Ned Yost and infield coach Rich Dauer have, for the most part, been impressed.
"I see Rickie getting smoother defensively," Yost said. "He's played great defense, but I just see him getting a little more comfortable with all the work they do every day defensively. Rickie is a fast learner."
