Saint Francis stayed with nationally-ranked James Madison step for step in Week 3 and two of the men who contributed to the Red Flash’s memorable effort earned weekly honors from the Northeast Conference.* NEC Defensive Player of the Week DaQuan Minter picked off JMU quarterback Mike Birdsong twice during Saturday night’s 24-20 setback in Harrisonburg.* After accounting for all of the Red Flash’s fourth-quarter scoring, rookie kicker Lance Geesey claimed the NEC Special Teams Player of the Week award.* Meanwhile, Sacred Heart’s Sean Bell earned the NEC Offensive Player of the Week honor after producing the season’s first 200-yard rushing performance as the Pioneers moved to 3-0 for the first time in five years.* Bryant, which was also hoping to go 3-0, jumped out to an early lead at Maine thanks to two touchdowns from NEC Rookie of the Week Paul Canevari.* The rookie running back finished with 96 yards on 18 carries in the eventual 35-22 setback.
