Kickoff shortly. Weather 63 degrees and clear. Wind is a light breeze, if any, and should not be a factor.
PSU QB---Freeman will start. Smith is in uniform but will play only in an emergency situation. Technically, Smith listed as third string for this game (behind Freeman and Morales).

Freeman started the year as 3rd string. Howland, 2nd string is out for the year with a knee injury. Freeman played mostly in the game against N Colorado and also just over a half against Cal.

WSU returned the opening kickoff to near midfield, then Jackson (PSU) intercepted a pass. Teams exchanged punts, then Vikings, helped by a late hit penalty on the Wildcats, took the ball to the WSU 25, where the drive stalled.

That 77 yd pass was nice, wasn't it?
Weber State hasn't allowed a TD drive of 35 yds or more.

Sounds like a very good game. Two special teams mistakes by Weber State on the kickoffs for both halves sound like the difference in the game.
Thanks for the updates.

The Portland State defense is really good. Weber State had 5 straight possessions in the 3rd quarter that started on the PSU side of the 50 and only managed 3 points.
Weber dominated the special teams, their returner kept them in very good field position for much of the game.
