Wildcats pick off a pass and aren't wasting any time, just outside the red zone.

Excuse me, they returned it for a touchdown. Wildcats are rolling the Panthers.

Florida International drives to about the BCU 5 when they fumble and the Wildcats recover. Bethune-Cookman leading 34-7 in the 4th quarter and have the ball back.

Florida International gets into the endzone, but misses the extra point. BCU up 34-13 with 7:45 to go in the 4th quarter.

Since A&T and BCU don't play each other this year...who is more "worthy" of an at-large bid? Provided they both go undefeated in conference play?

superman7515
September 14th, 2013, 08:39 PM
If they both go undefeated, in the newly expanded field, they will both make the playoffs.

Squealofthepig
September 14th, 2013, 08:43 PM
Well, if both go undefeated, B-C will definitely have the edge as they'd have an FBS win at Florida International (hope I don't jinx it) AND... Florida State.

BCU wins by a 34-13 final.

If they (A&T and B-CU) both go undefeated, they will both be Co- Champions of the MEAC and they will both make the playoffs. Right now, the MEAC is a two bid league, and don't let another MEAC squad go 10-2... we could be a three bid league this year!!

Wildcats played a fantastic game today. Good representation for the FCS and the MEAC conference.

I thought BCU had a chance, but couldn't be more pleased that it's another just flat-out FBS embarassment game! xthumbsupx

How do they decide who gets the auto bid?

Actually its a convoluted points system that's based on your OOC.

MEAC Football Tie-Breaker SystemFOOTBALL
The tiebreaker system is used to determine which team will
receive the conference Automatic Qualifier for the NCAA
Playoffs or the specified Bowl game, whichever is applicable.
Two-Team or Multiple-Team Tie – If the tied teams played each
other, head-to-head competition will be used to determine the
representative. For multiple ties, head-to-head record vs. all
teams tied.
1.) If a tie still exists then the following shall be used:
A. Six (6) points for a win against a Division I-(FBS) team;
B. Count four (4) points for a non-conference Division
I-(FCS) win;
C. Subtract (4) points for a loss against a Division II
team;
The team with the highest point total shall be the Automatic
Qualifier for the NCAA Playoffs or the specified Bowl game,
whichever is applicable.
2.) If a tie still exists then the following shall be used:
A. Teams with the highest Sagarin ranking.
3.) Coin Toss by Commissioner

A&T
App State - 4 points
Elon - 4 points
Lynchburg (D2) - 0 points

BCU
Tennessee State - 4 points
Virginia Union - 0 points
FIU - 6 points
Florida State - 6 points

So the answer is BCU. It is still lunacy however.

The MEAC points system comes down to whether the MEAC braintrust feels that a win over App State = a win over FIU. Is App State considered an FBS win?

They were Vegas favorites. And wherever the F_U's are, they're just embarassments....

App State is transitional, so I guess they are still FCS. I bet A&T wishes they had found another FCS team to play rather than Lynchburg.

Even if it were a non-scholly FCS team that they should hypothetically dominate, hence the problem with the system. Then we would be talking about how BCU wished they didn't play FSU.

Seriously, we need clarification on App. State from the MEAC Commissioner. Right now, I think Bethune is ahead of A&T by two pts in the tiebreaker dept. Either way, it's way too early for either team to worry about that.

Thanks for guys. This was a great FCS win. Now it's back to the drawing board to get ready for FSU.

Good weekend for the MEAC. Lookout for SCSU to beat one if not both A&T and BCU if we can get better QB play and not get outcoached by Broadway and Jenkins.

You are you telling! Sheesh!

We feel the same way down here in D-II. A sloppy game and still won 62-8.

So happy for BCU & NCAT. A major feat to keep the streak going at 3-0 over FIU. Guess Vegas wasnt wrong in that regard.
