It's going to be a tough year. We're starting from scratch offensively. Nothing we didn't know going into the season. Many people obviously were dillusional. However, I'm going to put all on notice, this team will finish very strong and go into '07 with a swagger and confidence of a championship-caliber team.

I've said all along GSU's biggest problem is defense, not offense. The trip option wore out opposing D's and kept opposing O's off the field. It gave GSU an advantage that manifested itself in all aspects of the game.

GSU will recover but it may not be as quick as Eagles fans had hoped, heck some thought they were already there.

I wouldn't go that far. UTC could be a major player. They have ASU in Chatty and ASU doesn't have a great record against them on the road. This game scares me:eek:

I don't like the out come so far this season...it sucks...but step back and take a objective look at what we have and where we have to go.

New coaching staff...new system...a hole new program. I look at the stats and we are improving with each game. It at least showed there is a light at the end of the tunnel and I think the coaching staff will get the team there.

I'll take my lumps from these A-10 schools up here this year and congratulate them on their wins right up to the championship games. I see a SoCon team with the championship flag flying from their stadium in 2006. I'm a realist and don't see GSU with another flag this year but look out next year to my friends in the SoCon when we post a team you dread seeing on your schedule every year.

GSU is 1-2 but I really think they've improved in every game so far. UTC is very under-rated. I've been saying it since the beginning: the SOCON will send 3 again this year:

1) App State
2) Furman
3) UTC

App and Furman will tie for the SOCON crown and once again face eachother in a SOCON playoff slug-fest. UTC will advance to the second round.

It's not out of the question that UTC will shake up the I-AA world two weeks from now (though I certainly hope not).

Well the offensive system was more than that... it gave GSU a unique identity. It was associated with unprecedented I-AA dominance.

GSU's players are the same, but the option gave the team an edge that will be tough to regain. It can be done and probably will, but not easily.

Foster...5 touches 83 yards 16.6 avg. 1 TD. Yeah he was realllly shut down. :rolleyes:

Our "prized 4.4 backs" had 172 yards rushing between them, averaged 4 yards a carry, and had 3 TD's. Yeah, they were shut down too, and didn't help Clark out one little bit. :rolleyes: xidiotx

We rushed for more yards, passed for more yards, held the ball for 12 more minutes, scored more TD's, and the turnovers were even. We lost the special teams battle which caused us to lose the game, period.

We are much further along than I expected us to be. Offensively, we are beginning to hit our stride. We aren't there yet, but we should be there much sooner than I originally thought. Although the front 7 are much better than last years, being we had to replace the entire secondary, I knew the D would be a work in progress all season.
