View Full Version : Week Four - Score Thread

Two big games headline the first hour of play with Delaware, looking to bounce back from last week's loss tackling Rhode Island on the road. Both teams enter the game 1-1.

Then, we get South Carolina St versus the Chants of Coastal Carolina. This game has major playoff implications, an 'elimination game' if you will. A win would definitely get either team heading in the right direction. CCU is 1-2. A loss could very well end their I-AA playoff hopes coming from a non-AQ conference. South Carolina St already has a loss to Bethune-Cookman. While this is an OCC game, three losses would probably mean the Bulldogs would have to go the AQ route...

Other marquee games on the day include UC-Davis @ Youngstown, Central Conn St @ Albany, Alabama A&M @ Tx Southern and Portland St @ Weber St...

Very sloppy game on both teams' part. App State: 9 penalties for 84 yards. Jeremy Wiggins has two interceptions. Armanti Edwards 10-87 rushing, 7-11 123 yards 1 TD passing. Still doing a poor job throwing on third downs. Gardner-Webb has been better than expected on defense and rather inept on offense (a flip-flop of what you would expect of them). Total offenss at the half: ASU 258, GWU 121.

JSU offense looked better on the touchdown drive a moment ago, but they'll have to get a lot better to win this one. Martin's got the ball and a first down with less than a minute to go in the first half.

17-7 UT-Martin over Jax State in the third. Jax State comes out of the locker room about as flat as they were in the first half. UT-Martin gets a TD on their second possesion of the half. Their backs are getting plenty of yards running for the sideline and turning the corner. Also eating up the JSU D on short passes.

Now in a lightning delay, with something like 9 minutes left the third. This could be a long night for the Gamecock faithful. Skyhawks fans, meanwhile, could be looking forward to a bright season.

Great comeback for the Bears...way to go! Checked out the UCA sched and if the Bears take care of business at home and get a couple of road wins (definitely doable), then they could be sitting at 8-3 by season's end. Who knows? Everything falls just right, and it could be 9-2.

Definitely rooting for the Bears the rest of the way out! After UCA gave ISU's Redbirds a pretty good game, could tell the Bears have some serious potential.
