Our Easton HS Red Rovers won their fourth straight tonight over a much bigger Whitehall HS, 23-0. HOwever, the win was also their 4th STRAIGHT SHUTOUT! Held WHS to just 82 yards total offense. Last week opponent had only 90. Going into this week, EAHS was ranked #5 in PA, Quad A.
For historical purposes, Brittany Ryan kicked a field goal --the first girl to do so in school history.:hurray:

Liberty is still #3 and my alma-mater Abington Heights is under "honorable mention".

Yes, Liberty is a juggernaut. Both teams have played common opponents in Whitehall and Emmaus and have both won by similar spreads. Liberty's offense is much more explosive with the QB and TB. While Easton has excellent running backs, the passing game is a notch below Liberty's. However, Easton's D has been relentless. I think the schools will meet each other in late October. Should be one of those "Game of the Century" meetings... Both teams should come in undefeated.

If both Pburg and Easton continue to play as they have, ESPN2 is going to get a great matchup on Thanksgiving... Pburg took down national power Bergen Catholic in the Meadowlands two weeks ago in case anyone did not know...

Of Course! I'll likely miss the first quarter though and part of the second... have to do something extremely important on campus earlier that morning...

Easton won again last night, 50-0 over Allentown Central Catholic. Mercy rule kicked in with a couple minutes left in the second quarter (35-0).
ACC drove to the Easton 12 yard line as time was running out in the game, but the second and third string defensive players kept them out of the endzone. I liked the fact the Easton coach did not put his first team D back on the field to protect "the streak". It game a lot of underclassmen some good experience, but also sent a message to the team that winning the game and building a team is what is important as opposed to some streak, that while 'neat' to follow, is really meaningless in terms of the team's goals. The Red Rovers have now outscored their opponents 195-0 in five games, and should be ranked 3rd or 4th in PA. Amazingly, 3 of the top 5 teams in AAAA Pennsylvania are from one the Lehigh Valley League!

Ngineer, does that mean the game is called at half or what? Can LC recruit the whole team???

Ha, the way our defense is playing we might need to borrow Easton for a few downs...

..nice job Red Rovers.. can't wait to watch the T-day game.

Mercy Rule kicks in when a team leads by 35 points. Clock just continues to run so the punishment is over quicker, and the points, usually, don't pile up as fast.
Easton's D is not big, but very mobile. A study in gang-tackling. Plus a great secondary. Holley has 7 interceptions alone.
