Zach Zenner will do whatever is asked of him, South Dakota State coach John Stiegelmeier said, but the Jackrabbits hope to limit his carries a bit moving forward.
Zenner, who led the Football Championship Subdivision in rushing last year with 2,044 yards in 13 games, carried the football 300 times. He averaged 6.8 yards a carry and 157.2 yards a game. Saturday at North Dakota, the 6-foot, 220-pound junior tied his own school record with 295 yards on a career-high 37 carries in the No. 6 Jackrabbits’ 35-28 victory.
