First ever FCS game for ACU since becoming a D1 institution and first home game for Ill State in its newly refurbished digs. ACU has outscored opponents 144-23 after twon games but the CAts have not faced a rugged Missouri Valley defense before.

Liberty vs. Richmond is the first meeting between the Flames and former head coach (and second all time in wins) Danny Rocco. This game is important because it starts a stretch where Liberty plays three big games out of the next four (with a likely blowout of Kentucky Wesleyan thrown in) that likely will determine whether the Flames will be looking at the autobid or hoping for an at-large at the end of the season.
