Is Wayland Baptist really awful or something? Houston Baptist is a first year program and I wouldn't think they would beat many teams -- unless they are really really bad.

A bottom feeder NAIA team. If Houston Baptist can't beat Wayland, they face a long, long uphill battle to become respectable in FCS.

WTF is this??????????
Nicholls isn't playing LSU....they're playing USL...or as they've been named by the Louisiana Legislature, The University of Louisiana AT LAFAYETTE...
They're not ****ing LOUISIANA!

University of Louisiana System; Louisiana State University System; Southern University System: Obviously LSU A&M Baton Rouge is the flagship, Southern Baton Rouge is the flagship- so what would one consider the flagship of the University of Louisiana System; or is it a system without a flagship institution..........

or is it a system without a flagship institution..........
THIS!
Actually, the Legislature mandated that UL-Lafayette and UL-Monroe SHARE the University of Louisiana name...so...technically, there is NO flagship in that system...

That is cool, I assume they where both trying to make a move as the "flagship" and the legislature told them to deal with it, one more question- why do some of the schools use the title with state in the name in the University of Louisiana system, and then I will stop asking questions......

USL (ULL) is the most vainglorious, overreaching social climbing school on the face of the earth. They try to push the envelope and get people to call them "Louisiana" in hopes of claiming that there's a precedent...so they can co-opt the name for their own....ULM is fine with ULM.
Both were double directional schools earlier. There are two other double directionals....Northwestern Louisiana and Southeastern Louisiana...Both could, if they wanted, probably switch to The University of Louisiana at Natchitoches and Hammond, respectively...but who wants to follow USL??? Crazy...
McNeese and Nicholls could do the same thing...
But we don't wanna be The University of Louisiana at Lake Charles..
McNeese72 and CBuck had a great idea years ago. We should change the name of Lake Charles to McNeese and then we could call ourselves the University of Louisiana at McNeese...or the University of McNeese...
Nobody in Louisiana takes USL seriously, though....the school's been playing football for 120 years...they have exactly TWO 9 win season...four 8 win seasons and a whole lotta crap all the other years...
No 11 win season...no 10 win season...EVER...
22 games against LSU...never scored a TD. Ever...
Lifetime winning percentage is .481 or something like that...pitiful!

That statement is incorrect. In 1924 they scored a touchdown, I believe. I know they scored 7 point. I guess that could be 2 safeties and a field goal. Maybe it was a defensive touchdown and they have never scored an offensive touchdown. Irregardless, they really suck. McNeese average 10 points a game against LSU. USL averages 1.14. That is pitiful.

First off, congrats to the Skyhawks.
I figured those injuries on defense against Colorado were going to hurt. But what was worse was the Oline not giving Smothers time. Us fans got to try to figure out this team.
An easy win vs a DI transitional team.
A fourth quarter collapse vs. a PAC team with some bad defensive losses.
It took until the fourth quarter to get started vs the Skyhawks.
Whats next?
Heck even a team I thought was strong in the cowboys struggled vs a DII team.
Looks like only Sam is having a good start.

Sam has not beaten anyone. Their test will be EWU. No excuses for McNeese last night. Western Alabama was a fine football team full of transfers and very fast. I thought Johnny Football shrunk 5 inches, dropped 30 lbs and was playing against the pokes last night lol. A win is a win and I will take it.
