With the Monmouth University football team playing an independent schedule before moving to the Big South in 2014, there is no concern this fall over conference standings and keeping pace with other teams.
However, today’s matchup at Liberty, set for a 7 p.m. kickoff at Williams Stadium in Lynchburg, Va., should provide some indication of what life in the Big South will be like. While the Hawks will be rookies there next fall, the Flames have either won or shared five of the last six Big South crowns.
