That's a nice improvement over last year. I suppose the rain chased a bunch of people off, I was worried that it being on TV might make more casual fans decide to just stay home and watch instead of going to the game.

A pitiful 6,386 at Goodman Stadium for Lehigh-CCSU on a sunny, 72 degree day. Good student turnout (for LU); poor alumni and local showing. CCSU had a few dozen fans...all parents.

"The announced attendance was 14,952 and the actual attendance was 5,195, according to Georgia State, as the Panthers lost their second consecutive game to an FCS-level opponent." - AJC

A school with well over 30,000 students, smack dab in the middle of the largest city in the south, and their team plays in a NFL stadium. 5,195. /deleteprogram

"LAKE CHARLES – McNeese rolled up 528 offensive yards and had a big second quarter scoring output for the second consecutive week as the 18th-ranked Cowboys cruised past Arkansas-Pine Bluff by a 58-14 score in the home opener in front of 15,217."

3326 at Salisbury (MD) to watch D-III Christopher Newport upset the home Sea Gulls. Doesn't sound like much, but the place was sold out with people sitting on the grass behind the end zones. Old Ivytalk was smart and got there early!xnodx

I wonder how many there were UTC fans who made the short drive down?

Lafayette/Sacred Heart at Fisher Stadium in Easton - 6,238.

I thought the crowd would big bigger when I parked my car a few blocks from the stadium (I had to park a bit further away than I've had to in the past when I've attended Lafayette games, and I parked probably about 5:15 PM or 5:20 PM), but once I got inside Fisher Stadium, I knew the crowd was relatively small.

Incidentally, I was disappointed to see some Leopards fans leave in the early to middle part of the 4th quarter when Lafayette fell behind by 6 points. I can understand people leaving the Lehigh game when the Mountain Hawks fell behind by 20 points in the 4th quarter (and based on the number of empty parking spots I saw when I left after the game ended and beat most people out of the stadium because I didn't stick around for the post-game celebration, a number of people did leave early), but the Lafayette game was a one score game.

15,960 in the UNIDome for the Drake/UNI game

It was under 5k by the start of the second half though due to the lop-sidedness of the game

Attendance might improve when they start their easier Sun Belt schedule. If not, time to drop some more EBT cards from the rafters.

Can you imagine playing in a 70,000 seat stadium with 5k fans watching? You gotta figure a couple hundred are players' families, maybe 100 for the band, and 800 from Chatty. Look, of 15,000 tickets sold, 66% decided it wasn't worth the trouble of going. That's humiliating.

I've been saying it all week - no interest in this game. None. Nada. Zilch.
