Northern Colorado mourns the loss of Sam Safkin, age 21

The UNC community lost a courages young man on Tuesday. Former player Sam Safkin has died of cancer at age 21. He played with the Bears in 2004 and was also part of the wrestling team. Here's the link on our website.

Losing any family member is a tragedy, but the loss of a young person seems so unfair and unnatural..

Too young. Too tragic. At least he's not suffering anymore. At least he's at rest. The Bear nation will pray for the family, friends and all those who's lives he touched who will miss him deeply. Tragic. Just tragic.
