Playing to the tune of a .667 win percentage, Northeast Conference football teams won four non-conference contests in Week 1 and six of the men who were key contributors in those victories garnered NEC weekly honors.* Preseason all-NEC running back Dom Williams captured the Offensive Player of the Week award after carrying the Seahawks to a 28-21 come-from-behind victory over Georgetown.* His teammate, Deangelo James shared Defensive Player of the Week efforts for his game-tying interception TD return against the Hoyas.* Duquesne linebacker Sam Martello (safety, FF) also proved worthy of defensive honors in the Dukes 35-24 win over CAA member UAlbany.* Two days after booting the game-winning 30-yard field goal with 00:38 to play, Bryant placekicker Tom Alberti staked claim to the NEC Special Teams Player of the Week award.* The NEC Rookie of the Week award was split between a pair of redshirt freshmen quarterbacks.* Duquesne’s Dillon Buechel and Sacred Heart’s RJ Noel shared the honor after each accounted for more than 300 yards of total offense in winning efforts.
