First baseman Carlos Delgado is the active leader in games played without a postseason appearance (1,703 and counting). Assuming Delgado takes the field for the NL East-champion Mets in the opening round of this year's playoffs, who will assume that distinction?

Jason Kendell C - Oakland Athletics
He has played 1535 games as of 3:00Pm today and has never appeared in a playoff game for Pittsburg (1995-2002) or Oakland (2003-06)
Though that will very soon change.

The magic of sortable stats on cnnsi.com looking for the most logical player then confirming on mlb.com's stats that he indeed hasnt played a playoff game. There were a bunch of players between Delgado and Kendell but most i think had appeared in a playoff game. And while technically Kendell hasnt played one and hasnt become eligible yet, im fairly certain the Athletics will make the post season so while my answer would technically be correct at the moment should no one ahead of him been the answer we can ask the question again in a week when the A's clinch :P

So basically, what you are saying is you cheated by looking it up on the Internet? Cool.

I'd say Todd Helton maybe.
Edit: Oh, I didn't read the whole thread. Wonder where Helton was on the list.

And it very well could fall to him once the A's are officially in the playoffs.
