Week one of the 2013 season saw Eastern Illinois knock off FBS foe San Diego State by 21 points and UT Martin top nationally-ranked FCS opponent Chattanooga on the road. In addition Eastern Kentucky, Jacksonville State and Tennessee Tech picked up wins. On Monday EIU senior Alex McNulty was named National Defensive Player of the Week for his efforts in the win over SDSU.
