Despite a season-opening loss to Mid-American Conference and Football Bowl Subdivision foe Ball State last Thursday, the Illinois State football team remained ranked in both major Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) polls announced Monday. The Redbirds were ranked No. 17 in the FCS Coaches Poll and No. 19 in The Sports Network FCS Top 25.
