Hard to believe that Wake is the lone undefeated ACC squad in the Carolinas. First time since 87' they have started 3-0. Maybe they'll be bowl bound this season. Tough test coming this weekend in Oxford against Ole Miss.

GO DEACS!!!

Let's see, they will beat Duke, and probably beat North Carolina. If they can beat Ole Miss this week, which is possible, they would have six victories, and be bowl eligible. Amazing, huh?

They beat Duke last week. I see them beating North Carolina, Virginia(they are aweful this year), Liberty and maybe NC State. That is 7 victories right there.

I meant Virginia instead of Duke. When I think bad football, Duke is always the first thing that pops into my head. :D

Having seen the Demonized Deacons play, they have to be the worst undefeated I-A team around. Good thing they are not in the SoCon or the A-10.

Less than 30 days until basketball season for the ACC.

Virginia loses to WMU. NC State loses to Akron and some other school. The ACC looks like total crap. When it's all said and done they may send another 4 loss, #23 ranked team to a BCS bowl this year. I think UNH could probably get bowl eligible in that conference.

Good for Wake Forest. Probably the only ACC school that I have positive feelings about...

I never thought of Wake Forrest as bad. It seems like they usually play well against the good teams but end up losing. They seem to pop up in a bowl game every now and then. They're kinda a poor mans Northwestern.

Billy Packer is a Wake Forest grad. They deserve every loss they get. xlolx

My grandmother graduated HS with him. He's from Bethlehem, PA. He went to college at La Salle in Philly.

Packer is a graduate of Liberty High School in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. He attended Wake Forest University from 1958 to 1962 and played guard on the school's basketball team for his last three years (in his day, freshmen were not eligible for varsity sports), leading Wake to three ACC titles and the 1962 Final Four. After graduation he had a brief stint as an assistant coach for his alma mater, then began his broadcasting career on regional ACC telecasts in 1972.

OOps, yeah i can't believe i said La Salle, someone did go La Salle, maybe it was Bill Raftery? i get the two mixed up sometimes. With the WF talk i can't believe i had that brain fart. But yes he graduated from Liberty HS, my dads and grandmothers HS alma mater.

Having seen Wake beat ukon I can tell you that I'm shocked they are undefeated, but enjoyed seeing the hapless huskies lose to them. Actually ukon appeared to have better athletes on the field, but ukon's play calling was abysmal, they routinely squandered every opportunity and wake was still lucky to win. 2 bad teams.

Yes, UVA is pretty terrible this year. We have a defense but no offense. Al Groh is partially to blame as he benched the only QB who could move the ball because he threw a pass that was tipped into the air and picked off and taken to the house. I hate Al Groh. We would've at least won that game if he doesn't take McCabe out.

BTW, if Wake doesn't beat Ole Miss, I'd be surprised. The Rebels are horrendous this year.

Saying Billy Packer led Wake Forest to the Final Four and those ACC titles is a HUGE stretch. He was along for the ride. They had an All-American named Len Chappell, who averaged 30 points and 15 rebounds per game and a big guy inside (6-10) named Bob Woollard.

They have been pretty hapless over the years until the last few under Jim Grobe. They been to only six or seven bowl games in their entire football history, one of those being something called the Dixie Bowl. Between 1950-1991, Weak Forest was in one bowl in 1979 (Tangerine Bowl). They only won about 40 percent of their games in the program's history.

I don't think they would, either. :twocents:

They beat Furman at home, with the help of the refs. Good luck beating us and furman on the road if they had to. WCU/UTC/GSU would play em tough, too. And who knows? If you beleive all the hot air comin' from the Phoenix lately, superman Wes Pope and Co. just might blow em out, too. :D

NC State would stand a slightly better chance, but I'm not entirely convinced they definitely would win it, either.

Marcus Stone is now benched. Daniel Evans is the new starter.

Mr C. show some love. It is hard for Wake to recruit when they have NC State and UNC around the corner. When you give a kid the choice of Wake or NC State, 9 out of 10 would say NC State. Jim Grobe has done a tremendous job in Winston-Salem. They beat a Syracuse squad (yes the 'Cuse suck) that almost beat Iowa. The last two bowls they were in was the Aloha and Seatlle Bowls. They won both beating Arizona and Oregon. Wake will win at least 7 this year.

And yes the ACC is down this year.
