In the only Friday night I-AA game this week, Central Connecticut State defeated Southern Connecticut State by a score of 29-26.

CCSU was down 10-0 early in the first quarter to the in-state D-II rivals on a very wet night in New Haven. Central was led by Justice Harrison's 241 rushing yards and 3 TDs. The Blue Devils improve to 3-0 for the first time since 1973, when they began the season with wins over Edinboro, Springfield, and Maine.

CCSU will begin Northeast Conference play next week at Albany.

I was crappin' myself listening to that game; The stomach pains a reminder of the Fordham game last week, a path CCSU looked like it was heading until it prevailed.

Two weeks up in the Capital District!!!

Central was outplayed for most of the game, yet won the game because of our great RB. Here's some ugly stats:

First Downs: CCSU 14 / SCSU 28
Passing Yrds: CCSU 91 / SCSU 192
Time of Poss: CCSU 24:43 / SCSU 35:17
4th Dn Conv: CCSU 1-1 / SCSU 5 of 6
RZ Scores-Chances: CCSU 1-2 / SCSU 3-5

Southern put up better offensive numbers vs. CCSU than GSU did. SCSU was a D-II playoff team last year and will challenge for a spot this year.

It was a rivalry game, throw out the wisdom because it was about State pride.

A sign of a good team is to win when it doesn't play well. Congrats to the Blue Devils for fighting it through.

Agreed, but there could also have been a bit of an emotional hangover from the GSU game. After beating the Eagles, It's not unreasonable for CCSU to not be focused on Southern Connecticut.

I know its only three games into their season, but why not prognosticate the rest of the season for the fun of it.

Say CCSU finishes the regular season and Geo South finishes in the top 3 of the SoCon. Would the selection committee give the Blue Devils a bid into the playoffs?

I feel the only way they get in the playoffs is if this situation takes place over the course of the next eight games.

would be interesting to see how a nec team would fair in the playoffs. would they be worn down by then?
