Good Morning,
To do it right, what does it cost for stadium lighting?
I have heard-$475K,$600K or $1M?

it depends on a few factors, first of which is size and style of the stadium. using my own conference to illustrate, Charleston Southern you could probably do for around $500,000. Liberty or CCU on the other hand...probably looking at seven figures

It also depends on what is required in infrastructure.

A below-ground stadium would require less in the way of light towers than a more vertical stadium. Enclosed stadiums may require a bank of lights installed on the facility itself. And a historically significant stadium may require all sorts of changes to meet local or state rules.

Cost just north of a million at UA's new digs. We upgraded to national broadcast lights and hd broadcast lights.

It depends on what type of lights you want.

Lighting to ESPN standards is more expensive than the lighting required just to play a game at night

A lot of factors dealing with site conditions. Not just the stadium, but lighting around the stadium for safety and security issues. Zoning issues with neighbors, underground conditions/utilities can also come into play or interfere. No 'one size fits all', unfortunately.

Charlotte is estimating $1 million so I think you are dead on.

We just have fans bring flashlights and park cars at the end of each endzone and have them turn on their brights....xnodx

Lafayette cost over $1mm, but they had to drill through solid rock.

You will be right at home on your trip to Martin.........and when the lights do come on, you will wish you had brought extra flashlights

Also it's a historically significant venue (as DFW points out) plus the lights at Fisher are at HD Broadcast standard. You can wear sunglasses in there.

The other alternative is to clamp a few reflector floods to a telephone pole. All you'd need is a guy with a ladder and a couple of trips to Home Depot.

Just make sure that no one parks over the extension cords.

Wagner just installed lights at Hameline Field this summer. Cost: $750,000.
