More than three weeks remain before Scott Satterfield’s first game as Appalachian State’s head football coach. But he’s already looking down the road at next year’s schedule — and beyond.
It’s a little ironic, considering that this year’s team keeps repeating the mantra “one game at a time, one week at a time.” The Mountaineers — who have won or shared seven of the past eight Southern Conference championships, including last season’s — hope that strategy will provide continuity as the program prepares for next year’s leap to the Football Bowl Subdivision.
