The problem after game #1 for the Texans was the running game...

The Texans are looking to a former I-AA player to change the fortunes of the running game, which oddly enough, looked too good to be true in the preseason...

Samkon Gado of Liberty is on his way to Houston after being traded for Vernand Morency.

Texans brass thinks highly of him...

From the Houston Texans web site...

General manager Rick Smith believes Gado can be an every-down runner for the Texans.

“I think he proved that last year,” Smith said. “That’s not to say that I know that Vernand couldn’t have been an every-down back and not develop into that type of player, because he certainly has done everything that we asked of him to do to acclimate himself to this offense. But again, I think he’s more in line for what they’re asking him to do there.”

This could be big for Sam because nobody will be able to run behind that line Green Bay has this year.

I hope they use him. He's on my fantasy team.

I hope they use him. He's on my fantasy team.

He's apparently #3 on the depth chart behind Lundy and Dayne though Kubiak liked what he saw and Gado was golden under Texans assistant HC Mike Sherman at Lambeau...
