As some of you may know I was the Big South contributor for the FCS Wedge online radio show last year. That experience lit a bit of a fire under me and helped rekindle the thought of having my own radio show. I am pleased to announce that what started out as an idea, in just under 17 days will become a reality as I will be debuting the brand new Friday Football Kickoff show in Central Virginia.

The show will originate from Amherst, VA and will cover high school football action in the Lynchburg, Roanoke and danville areas. the show will preview each week's action and look at coaches and players (some of whom may end up on your favorite team's roster in the coming years) and lead up to the action under the Friday night lights. the show will be available for listening online at www.wamvradio1420.com for anyone that wants to check it out outside of the lynchburg area or wants to hear how I sound if you did not listen to the opening segment of FCS Wedge last year.

Week 1 kicks of Thursday night. Friday Football Kickoff goes over the Friday night Week 1 action with a full slate of games including a spotlight game featuring two former state champions as two time state champion Brookville opens the Marshall Schmitt Era with a matchup against perennial Group A qualifier and 2011 state champion Gretna. Harrisonburg and EC Glass kick off the 6A class system era at Lynchburg City Stadium Thursday night at 6:30 PM. We will be talking with Brookville radio broadcaster Will Stafford as well as Rod Johnson from VirginiaPreps.com to discuss prospects across the state (I'll ask him about how FCS schools are doing in pursuing some kids) among others, and introduce our player of the week award which we will have throughout the season. Tune in at 5 PM Eastern/4 Central/3 Mountain and 2 Pacific to hear "Central Virginia's High School Football Pregame Show" hosted by 2012 FCS Wedge contributor bjtheflamesfan on www.wamvradio1420.com
