If timing is everything, the Stetson Hatters have picked a good time to start playing in the Pioneer Football League.
The 21-year-old league is getting an automatic bid to the FCS playoffs for the first time this season, and that was the main subject Thursday for much of the PFL coaches teleconference for media.
From the projected top (San Diego) to bottom (Stetson), according to the PFL preseason poll, coaches were thrilled the league is breaking new ground to compete nationally against other FCS teams.
