CHARLOTTE, N.C. (www.BigSouthSports.com) – The Big South Conference announced its 2013 football broadcast schedule today at its annual Media Day Kickoff luncheon, and this year’s slate features 21 games that will air during 12 of the 13 weeks of the 2013 campaign.

The schedule includes a “Game of the Week” package on ESPN3, ESPN’s live multi-screen network, and features seven Big South games and two out-of-Conference match-ups -- the first time the Big South will telecast non-League contests. Big South members will also appear on WMYA-TV 40 in Greenville/Spartanburg/Asheville, WCCB-TV 18 in Charlotte and Cox Communications in Virginia, while the Liberty Flames Sports Network (LFSN) will broadcast six games involving the Flames -- including two Conference contests. Additional broadcasts may be added at a later date.

ESPN3 will kick off the Big South’s “Game of the Week” package on Sept. 14 with Gardner-Webb hosting Richmond live at 6:00pm from Boiling Springs, N.C. The first Conference game on ESPN3 will be Oct. 12 (Gardner-Webb at Coastal Carolina), and continues through the season finale on Nov. 23.

Meanwhile, two 2013 season-opening games involving the Big South will also receive coverage. On Thursday night, Aug. 29, Liberty’s contest at Kent State will be carried on ESPN3 at 6:00pm, while Presbyterian College’s game at Wake Forest will also be available on ESPN3 at 6:30pm.

In addition to the ESPN3 schedule, all home football games will air live for free for the first time on the Big South Network presented by State Farm.

ESPN3 is a destination that delivers thousands of global sports events annually and accessible online via WatchESPN.com, on smartphones and tablets via the WatchESPN app, through ESPN on Xbox LIVE to Gold members and on Apple TV. It is currently available to more than 85 million homes at no additional cost to fans who receive their high-speed Internet connection or video subscription from an affiliated service provider. The network is also available at no cost to approximately 21 million U.S. college students and U.S.-based military personnel via computers connected to on-campus educational networks and on-base military networks.
