Senior linebacker Dustin Wharton (LaVale, Md./Allegany) has been named the 2013 Patriot League Preseason Defensive Player of the Year, when the league announced preseason award winners during Patriot League Media Day at Green Pond Country Club in Bethlehem Township, Pa.
