Coach Mangurian on Luke Eddy: Strong leg, especially on kick-offs. Has the ability to be very effective as a place kicker. Needs to be more consistent. Puts in the film work, studies and works on his technique. Has been competitive during the off-season program. Has a tendency to drive the ball on longer attempts, which is common. Needs to improve. It will be a competitive training camp at that spot. Need to identify the best holder, would like it to be Delaney. Made some big tackles last season, good for him, but bad for us.

Taylor Betros

Betros emerged as one of the team's top playmakers as a sophomore in 2012, leading the team in tackles (66) and tackles for loss (6.0) while starting at linebacker. He added a pair of interceptions, two pass breakups and a fumble recovery in his first season as a starter. Betros made a career-high 12 tackles with 4.0 for a loss against Dartmouth in amonster game after intercepting passes against Brown and Princeton in consecutive weeks. He added a fumble recovery in the win over the Tigers. Betros made eight stops against Brown. He saw action in nine contests as a freshman in 2011, primarily on special teams, and recorded nine tackles to earn his first career letter. He earned his first career start in the season finale against Penn and was credited with four tackles and two pass breakups a week after boasting four tackles and a tackle for loss in the win over Columbia. Betros made his first career stop in the win over Wagner.

At Bolles School
Betros was part of two state title-winning teams at the Bolles School as a linebacker and safety. A team captain as a senior, Betros was a first-team all-area pick by the Florida Times Union and Friday Night Football Magazine. Jax Prep Sports earned a spot on the “Cream De La Crop” list after earning a spot on the “Best of 2011 Linebackers” list by Gator Country Magazine. Betros earned spots on the all-state tournament team in 2008 by the Miami Herald and 2009 by the Orlando Sentinel. As a junior, Betros posted 110 tackles with 13 tackles for loss, four sacks, 12 quarterback pressures and two fumbles caused and recovered. The four-year letter winner on the gridiron also lettered three times in baseball.
