THE game of the year for me. All of my friends are huge Notre Dame fans. Winner gets a year of bragging rights. I predict Michigan 31 Notre Dame 27.

ND offense is too much. ND wins 38-28

After watching what ND did you Penn State last week, I don't think Michigan will be able to win this one. This might be THE year for the Irish.

Gotta take ND with their offense and coaching.

Irish take this one 31-21

That sounds about right to me. The game is in ND's building, and the Irish have had the Wolverines' number in recent years. That said, I'll be pulling for UM!

Cap'n Cat has a simple and logical formula to help him define for whom he will cheer in college football games. It is, roughly, as follows:

Is UNI playing? No.

Is a Gateway team playing? No.

Is a I-AA team playing? No.

Is it a non-BCS versus a BCS? Not necessarily.

Is it Midwest football versus some other region of the U.S.? No.

It must be, then, a Midwest versus Midwest? Yes.

Is it a conference game? No.

It must be, then, a nonconference Midwest game? Yes.

Is one team in the Big Ten? Yes.

Is that team the underdog? Yes.

Bingo! Root for Michigan.
************

I don't ordinarily have to go through this process until it's bowl season. And, I'll always pick a public university over a private one, especailly one affiliated with the Catholic church.

Very logical. Very simple.

ND will beat Michigan and LOSE at Michigan St (again) the next week...

I like Notre Dame - can't beat the atmosphere they give to college football. Even though I like Michigan's unis, I'm going with ND in this one - BHBK is right, Lloyd Carr by himself will cost Michigan at least 14 points they can't afford to lose.

Notre Dame will win as long as they come out firing and don't have a let down after the Penn State game which i don't think they will. They will not lose to Michigan State for two reasons, the game is not in South Bend and they've had that game circled on their calenders since MSU planted their flag at midfield after last years game. I'm thinking ND 34-17 for this weeks game.

People told me I was crazy when I said this might be Notre Dames year to go to the big dance. I think they'll steamroll Michigan but lets not forget they still have to go to the coliseum and face the Trojans this year.

LOL, who are your trying to kid partner. This is what you said on the thread about this past weekends game..

"ND is horribly overrated. I predict them to get exposed by PSU, Michigan, and USC again. The fact that they were even ranked #2 didnt even last a week. Had Chan Gailey coached that 2nd half right and utilized Calvin Johnson and Reggie Ball like he should've GT would've won that game"

I still don't know how good Notre Dame is. They were very lackluster against Georgia Tech, and, what few people seem to realize, is that they played a very mediocre team last week.

I've been pisssing off Penn State fans for weeks by telling them that they lost too much talent. JoePa has lost it as a coach, and now must rely on superior talent to win games. He was able to do that last year. I thought the Lions looked like a 7 win team against Akron the week before, so Notre Dame's win didn't surprise me.

Conclusion: Brady Quinn is very good, and his receivers are capable, but weren't tested by Penn States coverage last week. But I haven't seen enough of them to touch this game!

Truth be told im not exactly sure either. I did think PSU would have a much better showing against them than they did though. Michigan hasnt impressed me in quite some time but this is somewhat of a rivalry I suppose. The team I DIDNT think would be as good as they are after losing all of that talent is USC. Pete Carroll just switched their offensive style into more of an I-Form and their defense seems to be much improved. USC & Oregon should be a pretty good game.

MIchigan beat ND in every phase...Brady who? Good to see the 2 Warren, Ohio boys play well. Super Mario Manningham & Prescott Burgess both played at Warren G Harding HS near Ytown (same HS as Clarett). Charlie....go back to the Chocolate Factory. Maybe the national media will quit drinking the ND kool-aid

Here's a pic of those classy Catholic fans giving Breaston a double bird after an overthrow in the endzone
