An honorable mention All-Ivy selection in 2012, Buehler ranked fifth on the team in tackles (62) to go along with 2.5 tackles for loss, a sack, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery despite missing two games due to injury. The defensive co-captain surpassed 150 career tackles with seven stops in the win over Princeton and made nine tackles and recovered a fumble 32 yards at Brown. Buehler had a career-high 13 tackles with a sack and a forced fumble in the win over Monmouth. He notched seven stops in the Homecoming win over Yale, nine more in the win at Bucknell and 10 tackles with 1.5 for loss at No. 23 Harvard. He had an outstanding sophomore season in 2011, ranking fourth on the team in tackles (68) while starting all 10 games at linebacker. Buehler added 8.5 tackles for loss, good for second on the squad, a sack, two forced fumbles and a pass breakup to the defensive cause. Buehler averaged nearly eight tackles per game over the first eight weeks of the season before injuries slowed him the last two. He had three double figure tackle games during the year, including a season-high 11 against Harvard. Buehler was a dominant force in the win over Wagner, posting 10 tackles, including three tackles for loss and a sack, two forced fumbles and a pass breakup. Buehler opened up the year with 10 tackles and four tackles for loss in the victory over Bucknell, then notched nine stops against Colgate and Dartmouth. He posted 23 tackles and 3.5 tackles for loss as a freshman in 2010 to earn his first letter after competing in all 10 contests. Buehler registered six tackles and 1.5 tackles for loss in his first collegiate contest at Wagner. He earned his first varsity start in week two against Yale, recording a pair of tackles and a tackle for loss. He posted a career-best seven tackles against Colgate. Buehler also had two tackles, including one behind the line of scrimmage, in the win over Princeton.

At Dublin Coffman
A first-team all-state selection as a senior, Buehler was named the Central Ohio Defensive Player of the Year at Dublin Coffman HS. As team captain in 2009, his team earned league and district championships. Buehler was named first-team all-league and all-district in each of his final two seasons. He was picked as starter for the Ohio North-South Senior All-Star Game after totaling 100 tackles and 5.5 sacks in his final season. Buehler is a two-star prospect at linebacker and was ranked among the top 100 high school middle linebackers in the country. He also earned two varsity letters in baseball as a catcher/third baseman.
