For those who play these game, it's the last year (for now) for a seemingly comprehensive NCAA football game. Does this mean no more FCS teams in the game?
ALSO... for anyone who has the new game, are there Patriot League teams in NCAA '14?

EA Sports made the NCAA a lot of money, its weird that they won't partner up anymore. I am on the fence with buying the new game. I read comments on facebook that its almost the same as NCAA 2013.

They stopped putting FCS teams in there years ago. Now they just toss in generic "fcs southeast" etc. names in there but you cant play with them or build a dynasty. The new game is much different but overall inferior to the 13 game.

The new game is worse than 13. The game engine they put in is awful

Not weird at all. See "O'Bannon v. NCAA."

And I liked the college basketball game, the only I had was when they added NDSU. I won a NC with SU.

I have won 4 straight NC with UND on the 13 version. I like the Teambuilder option but wish they could add FCS teams.

the only real improvement those year is the recruiting is much faster. It took forever last year. They have some better tackling and juke moves but the game is not as fun. 11 12 and 13 were decent nut they have never matched 06 imo

I thought this was the best football game for computer. I created UND's conference (NCC) and named their players. It was great at that time.

I've never played a 2k game it's always been EA...is it better? I don't mean graphics wise but features. I love dynasty modes on games where I can create and run my team. Are those available in 2k games?

Those didn't exist, per say, when 2K was making games...though they were getting there and would have been years a head of EA.
The game play just felt much smoother, graphically the game looked better, and (while the things you may have be referring too "weren't around") they pushed the envelope when it came to integrating different features. They had features in 2k4 that Madden still hasn't integrated.
This is a graphic from 2k5 (so made in 2004)

Though I hated playing in this mode, it was by far the "realist" game option ever made to this point. When you played with a player lock...you literally played as that player

Madden's exclusive license is coming up, and I really hope 2k jumps back in at it....if for no other reason than to push Madden into actually doing something (though the 2K series was a better game every single year but people bought Madden because of the name). 2K, without that exlusive license would have pushed Madden out the door....ESPN NFL 2K5 was the first in the 2K series priced at $19.99 the day it shipped, much lower than market leader Madden NFL at $49.99. This greatly reduced Madden sales that year; one EA Sports developer recalled that "[i]t scared the hell out of us" EA reduced Madden NFL 2005's price to $29.95. In December 2004 EA Sports acquired an exclusive rights agreement with the NFL and NFLPA to be the sole creator of NFL video games. The deal terminated 2K Sports production of any further NFL games. The ensuing season, Madden 2006, saw pricing returned to the $49.99 MSRP.

There's a reason 2K owns the basketball game game market well beyond what EA could dream of right now. EA couldn't buy the exclusive NBA rights and 2K kicked their ass.
Same for baseball games (though The Show on PS3 dominates 2K's efforts....due to 2K scaling their efforts way back because they know they can't compete with that while developing a multiplatform game.

Those graphics at that time looked really good (the 2K version).

i never played ea games when 2k is/was available. that said, I only play college games so I don't get to play 2k. ncaa 14 is pretty good. dynasty is cool. faster than in previous years. I put my team in using team builder and do what I imagine what many of us would like to see......move them to FBS and kick butt. winning the national championship from the sunbelt of c-usa is pretty awesome!
14 is better than 13 imho because the option game is much more effective than in previous versions. I am read and triple optioning people to death on line.
