NATCHITOCHES -- Friday marks the 30th anniversary of the heroic death of Northwestern State football and track All-American Joe Delaney, an All-Pro running back for the Kansas City Chiefs. On June 29, 1983, Joe dove into a drainage pond in Monroe trying to save three drowning kids. One made it out before Joe also perished with the other two.
