Upset Colorado last week but down right now by 21-10 to Chadron State. Long way to go but interesting.

They are D-II and play in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. Hopefully they play the same way next week as they are playing right now.

I looked them up. They made the D-II playoffs four times during 1996 - 2001 but had their first losing season (4-6) since 1987 last year. Here's a link to their historical results:

From the picture it looks like they only have 13 guys on the team.

Chadron State's conference, the RMAC, also limits scholarships at 25, instead of the DII limit of 36.

Tough call. Maybe Chadron State is really good in D-II this year. They beat "Mary" 21 - 3 last week.

Yes, that's right. The school is just called "Mary."

Looked them up too. Apparently a perinnial NAIA playoff team (10 playoff appearances during the previous 13 seasons).

This kind of stuff is why I love to see interdivisional play.

Yes, that was the halftime score.

JohnStOnge

I'm just going by the Yahoo scoreboard. Still says "28-10" and halftime. Chadron State outscored MSU 14-3 in the first quarter and 14-7 in the second.

Mary is located in Bismarck North Dakota, NDSU would beat Mary by any score they wanted. Chadron St is in a weak DII conference the RMAC, if this score holds this will be the worst loss for any I-AA so far this year. Yes, even worse then SDSU against DIII UW-Lacrosse.

I'm as completely puzzled by this one as anyone, and it simply shouldn't be happening. It makes me wonder what I should expect from UNH next week when they play Stony Brook.

Well, if it's any consolation Montana St just stole worst loss of the year for a I-AA from SDSU.

From best win to worst loss, wow.

Final is 35-24.

Not sure if it's worse than losing to a D-III team, though.

Coin flip xlolx But you're 1-1, so that's better. Going to need a CU game effort next week rather than Chadron St. effort to hang with UC-Davis.

What kind of odds do you think you could've gotten before the season that Montana State starts 1-1? Almost a lock, right? But what about that 1-1 being a win against Colorado and a loss to Chadron State?

Wow.

Losing to a DIII school is far worse than losing to a DII school. Give me a break.

Wrong Mr. Fargo. As much as I respect NDSUand you, you don't know everything about Chadron State. They have a pretty good team this year and went into Bozeman in a perfect position (MSU reading their press clippings). They have a talented RB that could play in D1-A but was overlooked by everyone.

That running back was excellent. The Bobcats must have let last week go to their heads. I'd classify the Bobcats as bi-polar as they can play well against a D-IA team one week and look like crap against a D-II the next. So I guess that bodes well for next week, I don't know.

That running back was excellent.

I looked at the stats and noted that a guy appropriately named "Woodhead" 215 yards on 33 carries. That's all but 14 of their 229 yards rushing and they got 130 passing so it does look like Mr. Woodhead was featured.

No, we don't have to use this game. The West Georgia-Furman game going on now and the UNI-North Dakota game are enough for us.

Furman's O looked bad again, but West Georgia had 0 points on offense and 110 total yards.
