All Big Sky reciever Andy Birkel will not play the rest of the season after seeking medical treatment for his injured knee in Lincoln, Neb. He has a torn LCL and will use his redshirt and come back next season. This blows big time but I am glad he can come back for next season when we're play off eligible. Here's the story in the Greeley Tribune.

Man, the injury bug is making mincemeat out of the Big Sky.
From a football standpoint, Im afraid to say this injury may solidify your spot as last place. Well you can battle Sac for it, anyway.
How did Wilson do against Davis, btw? I havent seen stats.
Also Im not an idiot, my apostrophe button isnt working lol.

He'll be back next year.
Wilson had something like 50 yards. The new scheme the coaching staff has brought in isn't too conducive to the run. A lot of shotgun and 3 and 4 receiver sets. I'm less than impressed...

It's a fine scheme, but I doubt the current roster of players is built for it... he should stick with what works, and next year start recruiting players for his scheme. Losing Birkel puts a huge damper on any pass-oriented offense.
