Coach Mangurian on Hamilton Garner: Has moved into a leadership role, leading by example. Had every reason to fade away, didn’t play to his potential last season. Stayed focused and recommitted himself to the good of the team. Needs to improve his on-line blocking, improve coverage recognition and route running. Had too many drops a year ago. I trust this guy; he has overcome and refused to make excuses. His teammates see it also. Has a lot of work to do.

After spending a majority of the season on the team's depth chart at tight end, Doneth earned his first varsity letter after seeing action in the team's final four games of 2012. He hauled in two passes for 27 yards and made his first collegiate catch for 13 yards against Dartmouth. He also made a 14-yard catch against Penn. Doneth will have an opportunity to earn playing time as a sophomore in 2013 as a pass-catching tight end.
At Detroit Catholic Central HS
A three-year starter at Detroit Catholic Central HS, he helped the team to the state finals as a senior captain. ESPN.com ranked him as one of the top 75 tight ends in the country during his final season. An all-league, All-Detroit, All-Metro and all-area team member at tight end, he led the team in receiving as a senior and was nominated as the Catholic League Athlete of the Year. Doneth was a sophomore starter on the 2009 state championship team. He was a four-year starter on the basketball squad, earning all-league accolades as a senior captain. Doneth also competed on the track and field team for one season.
