Nationals righthander Ramon Ortiz pitched eight no-hit innings against the Cardinals on Monday before allowing a leadoff single to Aaron Miles in the ninth. Ortiz also homered in the game, and thus narrowly missed becoming just the third pitcher to hit a home run in a game in which he pitched a no-no. Who are the two who've done it?

Rick Wise is definitely one...there's an old joke that Phillies pitchers have to throw a no-hitter and hit a home run to win a game...

Earl Wilson of the Red Sox homered and no-hit the Angels on June 26, 1962. The Phillies' Rick Wise matched the feat against the Reds on June 23, 1971.
