One of the great names in sports has died of an apparent suicide. I still remember Dick smoking cigs during caution laps.

I remember my Dad laughing about that when we would watch races. I can't think of too many sporting events where that kind of thing could happen- imagine LeBron having a puff during a time out. Too bad about Dick, he was an interesting character.

Used to watch him on the short tracks in Wisconsin when I was a kid. Its a sad day.
