Returns as starting long snapper, listed 3rd on depth chart at tight end

3.) Nate Schurman (2002-03), New Orleans Saints

Just read that Shaun Bodiford (played last year for PSU) made the final roster for the Detroit Lions. He was not drafted, but signed a free agent contract with the Lions. Final cut day, Lions released Rogers and kept Bodiford as the third WR.

He's the only Portland State player currently on any NFL roster.

UC Davis: Atlanta Falcons: Daniel Fells, TE
UC Davis: New England Patriots: J.T. O'Sullivan, QB
UC Davis: San Diego Chargers: Cory Lekkerkerker, T

Fells is really the 4th string tight end, maybe on certain passing situations he'll be called in, but Crumpler is All-Pro, and injury prone too, which is why the Falcs have 4 TE's. (couldn't beat New Orleans w/o Fells, ha ha)

Sully is on the practice squad at NE after failing to make the Viks roster.

Lekkerkerker has retired I believe, maybe not though.

Of note in the past: QB Ken O'Brien w/ the Jets, QB Kevin Daft at Tennessee, and QB Khari Jones in the CFL.

Kassim Osgood led Cal Poly in 2000 with 83 receptions and 1377 yards. He then moved on to San Diego State for his junior and senior years. While playing at Cal Poly he set a Division 1AA record with 376 yards receiving against Northern Iowa.

One side note -- after the 2000 season Cal Poly did change coaches and moved to the more defensive minded Rich Ellerson so perhaps Osgood figured it was a good time to move on.

Lekkerkerker saw significant playing time in the San Diego Chargers' win over San Francisco last weekend. Lek will start as long as McNeill has that problem with his hand, but right now McNeill is listed as probable, and unless it's serious he'll probably be playing. :hurray:
